About our church...
Our congregation reflects the mainline denominations in its spectrum of theology and teaching, valuing lively discussions, a variety of insights, and timely responses to world situations. We also value our connection to other Presbyterian churches throughout the nation and the world, and the mission we are able to do working together.
Sunday mornings (with nursery available) find members, friends and children gathering for Christian Education at 9 a.m.,(click for a list). We worship in our uniquely painted sanctuary at 10 a.m. followed by a fellowship time with coffee and treats. Our gifted choir is led by Kelly Dame, with Music Director Linda Wade at the organ.
Midweek activities include various opportunities for growth like the Ladies’ Bible Study, Westminster Guild, Youth Group and a summer Vacation Bible School. Opportunities for service include projects through the Mission Committee, serving as an Elder or Deacon, teaching classes and more.
Our pastor is the Rev. Dr. Rebecca L. Kiser, who accepted the call of God and First Presbyterian Church to move to West Plains in October 2009. A graduate of Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, Pastor Becky has served churches in upstate Wisconsin and eastern Virginia before coming here.
